Peri-menopausal Fitness and Health and Beyond
Many of us are familiar with the portrayal of the concepts and challenges related to the Menopause.
Menopause can be viewed as the mirror image of puberty; a hormonal shift that takes 6-10 years to transition through. It is the permanent end of menstruation and fertility, defined as occurring 12 months after the last menstrual period.
In short, this life phase for most women starts around aged 35 – 40 and starts by most women noticing that ‘things are changing’ in our bodies and their moods and probably also noticing that current strategies for diet, exercise and lifestyle don’t seem to work anymore and indeed are starting to have a negative effect.
Menopause is seen to be a struggle but is transition that can be enjoyed when you have the tools to empower and educate and empower yourself in how to eat well, move well and live well.
As a woman’s fitness/wellness professional entering my own 3rd Age, I am educated in providing wellness information for these women whose needs are changing and who need a whole new kit-bag of exercise and nutritional knowledge to thrive in, and enjoy this life stage.
